About

I hold a Ph.D. in philosophy from SUNY Buffalo, an MA in philosophy from San Francisco State University and a BA in sociology from S.F. State.

The problem of nihilism is my primary interest. It is a sort of "hub" issue with "spokes" that radiate into most major areas of the humanities. Consequently, my research has led me to explore nihilistic themes in such diverse phenomena as humor, film, youth subcultures and the history of philosophy.
